What to Expect During your Outdoor Family Session
Hello & thank you so much for considering me for your special photos! I consider myself fortunate to be able to photograph your family and it's my hope that these photos will be a blessing to you and your family for years to come! I have been taking photos of my children for several years now and I am so excited to now be offering a limited number of sessions in the area!
My Style:
I would describe myself as a lifestyle or moment based photographer. This means I am drawn to the candid and real moments and always strive to capture them for my clients. Much of our session will focus on you interacting with your loved ones and me capturing those real, raw, and honest moments! I love movement so we will more than likely be moving around most of the session if possible. While I will capture some traditional posed portraits, much of your final gallery will be the in between and real moments <3 Your child laying their head on your shoulder, your daughter twirling around and around, the love & laughter between you and your spouse, and daddy playing with the kids are moments you will want to remember and those I don't want to miss! In addition to family photos, I will also make every effort get photos of each child individually, together, and with each parent. I am a light seeker so my sessions take place about 1 hour prior to sunset, this is the prettiest time of day light wise and my favorite to capture!
Question & Answers
How will I receive my images? Prints are available for purchase via my website but not required, high resolution images will be delivered via digital download.
When will I receive my images? Approximately 2-3 weeks from the date of your session
How many images will I receive? 40+ hand edited images
Where will my session take place? Currently I am holding the majority of my sessions in my outdoor studio or a few surrounding spots in the Twelve Mile, Indiana area.
How long will my session last? Typically 45-60 minutes but if children are ready to be done we can end the session a little earlier or focus on older children/adults.
What should I wear? Please feel free to check out the info below or my pinterest boards for ideas & inspiration!
Are props included? Typically I do not use props in my sessions as I want the focus to be on you and the interaction between family members. I do bring quilts, blankets, and chairs as needed for sessions. If you have an idea of something you would like to use please let me know and so we can incorporate it into the pictures.
When is payment required? Payment is due the date of the session unless otherwise specified.
What if I need to reschedule? Please notify me as soon as possible if you need to reschedule due to sickness or family emergency. Sessions will also be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

The style of your clothing, the colors, and the textures can impact the overall feel and vibe of your photo session! If investing in family or childhood photos it is very important to spend a little additional time on coordinating outfits to ensure your photos are timeless and polished! I have put together some style tips that I hope will be helpful to you as you start to think about styling your child and/or family for your next photo session. As always, I am available via email, text, or phone should you have any questions about outfits or overall styling of your session~ feel free to even send photos if you like and I'd be more than glad to give you some opinions/ideas!! <3
Styling Tips & Ideas!
Make sure you are comfortable in the clothing that you choose as we will be moving around a lot and cuddling with your loved ones, I generally suggest that mom picks something she loves first and them coordinate everyone else around her. I always want mom to feel beautiful!
Mix and match fun colors and patterns, don't feel like everyone has to look the same or be matchy-matchy. I personally love florals, stripes, plaids, and polka dots mixed with solids and clothing with texture!
Flower crowns, necklaces, scarves, hats, jewelry, & suspenders make great natural props.
Sweeping dresses and clothing with movement can play up the mood and are always beautiful and fun!
Graphics or large logos on clothing tend to date photos and distract.
Neon colors throw crazy color casts on skin and typically do not photograph well.
Remember that shoes will show and can make images feel unpolished. I love bare feet in the summer for kiddos also!
Earth tones and rich colors tend to lend themselves well to a lot of the outdoor locations that I love to use!
Boys going shirtless for outdoor summer sessions can help play up a carefree playful mood.
Get kiddos excited by letting them help choose a special accessory to wear. If they have something near and dear to them let them bring it along to help tell a story!
I love Target and H & M for boys clothing and hats or suspenders are always fun to play with!
